My husband (aged 74) and I (aged 73) took our four daughters, 2 of their husbands, 2 grandchildren, and the mother of one husband for two weeks in Orlando, FL to visit the amusement parks. On the 12th day of our 14-day trip my husband came down with a severe infection in his artificial knee that required removal of the joint and replacement with a temporary joint.
He was not able to travel back home to Las Vegas and had to have the surgery performed in Orlando. He was hospitalized in Orlando for nearly a month since he kept having adverse reactions to various antibiotics he was given to fight the remainder of the infection.
